IBM Think Pad laptop won't start

Post by claire13 on Sat Feb 13, 2010 1:18 pm

Hello.
Upon startup, an error message appears that windows did not start successfully then giving options to start windows normally, in safe mode, last known good configuration, etc. Each startup option hit brings me to a blue error screen which flashes on a message about shut down due to potential computer damage. A page fault in non paged area message appears. Something about disabling a BIOS option. It flashes very quickly. And loops back to the startup message. Not sure what to try. Thank you for any help. Let me think

I have added no new hardware. Is there any way to restore the operating system without a recovery disk on a laptop. Thanks.
