windows messenger

can anyone tell me how to remove windows messenger from my machine or at least get it off my desktop? I am running windows 7 64 bit on a new dell inspiron.

the program is not listed on the uninstall menu I will admit I am a bit lost with my new windows 7 program.

unfortunately i am running windows 7 and if there is a "run" box i have no idea how to find it. I will admit quickly there is a lot I don't know about windows 7. Thanks for your help so far anyway. I am impressed with this site and have spent a lot of time just reading and learning.
