Igooge and Gmail not working

Post by laurenzomac on 30th January 2010, 8:10 pm

After getting rid of multiple Trojan viruses via Combofix.exe and reinstalling my Mozilla Firefox and Internet 8, I still cannot get my IGoogle page to load, nor can I get my Gmail to load. The Google page that comes up will mostly travel to the site I request but often redirects to something completely different via www.searchway.com or something like that. One thing it absoƖute won't do is let me get to the Igoogle sign in page or the gmail sign in page. I have tried www.google.com/ig, and no success. It keeps telling me that it has a problem loading the page. I have checked the wireless connections, and those are fine. I have the right address. It just won't let me get my homepage back or my gmail. I would willingly sacrifice my fabulous homepage just to get my Gmail. I work at home, and have to use it on a regular basis. If anyone has any suggestions AT ALL, even if it means standing on my head and singing folk songs, then I will do it. Please.

Hello,

Did you run Combofix under supervision? If you did, I'm not sure what system files you might have damaged.

I did Combofix under the supervision of tech support of Justanswers.com. He told me not to delete files that ended in ini or winlogon, something like that. It was so late at night, that I am now not sure if I did or not. Are there other things that might have been sacrificed running this program? Will try clearing the temporary files and cookies again. Thanks. Will repost soon.
