:: Browsing web causes my audio to get distorted ::

Post by Namski on Fri Jan 29, 2010 6:22 pm

Hey GeekPolice!

I recently cleaned out some viruses on my computer and installed new security programs.
I always have my iTunes or Windows Media playing. So when I go to a website that takes a while to load,
the iTunes audio gets distorted and makes a crackling and static sound as the website is loading.
When the site is done loading then the music goes back to normal.

Do I need to reinstall some audio codecs or drivers?
Please keep me posted.
Thanks!

go into device manager and click on IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, Double click Primary IDE click Advance Settings, make sure under transfer mode that it is set to DMA if avaliable and currnet transfer mode is Ultra DMA Mode 5 not PIO. if it is PIO is the Current transfer mode uninstall primary IDE channel and reboot.

Transfer Mode is set to DMA if available
but
Current Transfer Mode says Not Applicable.
What to do?

Click on the primary IDE then hit the delete key tell it yes if it asks you if you want to delete then restart. Windows should automatically reinstall the Primary IDE then go back and see if current transfer mode is DMA

Hmmm .... not sure if I should do this. Shouldn't you need to see how I have my computer set up first?
