Solved Limited Connectivity/Local only

Post by Old Man Shea on Wed Jan 20, 2010 12:37 am

Hello all!
Recently one of our computers quit connecting to the internet on our wireless network. It can connect to the network, but not the internet. I tried the common fixes such as resetting the router, making a new network and nȯne seemed to work. As i started to search the internet for more info, it seems MANY people have this problem with minor tweaks in the story, but with the same results. I have checked the IPv4/6 settings and they are set to obtain adresses automatically, like the computer im on now. I've tried the winsock reset command thats posted on here, and finally a system restore. NOTHING so far has worked. Even when i run a network cable up and in the computer, it shows the same "local only". Does anyone know what I can possibly do? Thanks very much in advance too!

Solved Re: Limited Connectivity/Local only

Well I seemed to have fixed the problem. I was reading through This Forum, and noticed the discussion about Norton. It seems that the norton free trial expiring was causing their problems, so I used the Norton removal tool off of their site, re-booted the computer and now everything works like it once did! So thanks for giving me an outlet to express my frustrasion!
