Windows Live Messenger Installation Failure.

Post by zulsori on 10th January 2010, 4:04 am

Hi,
I've been trying to install the new windows live messenger for some time now and it hasn't been working for me. i download the installation file from the windows live page and it goes through the set up and gets to 99% and comes up with a corrupted file error: "hr0x800b0004". I dont currently have Windows live installed and im using the old windows messenger. I used to have windows live installed until an update came and i was never able to install it because of the same reason, so i tried the whole reinstall etc but still nothing.

Im out of options, what can i do?

i tried that but it said it was not compatible with my previous version? i tried installing version 1.1 and that worked then tried again but nothing still... Same error again.

Does it matter that i run service pack 3?

Hello,

Are you using a genuine version of Windows? Because I heard pirated copies have problems installing Windows Live Messenger.
