HELP - Internet Security 2010

Post by maddiem on Fri Jan 08, 2010 8:22 pm

Has infected my computer. I've run rkill and Malwaebytes but it doesn't find infection. Have followed all instructions to find process etc but not exist. I cannot access computer on the infected laptop as it won't let me despite it seeing the wireless connection so I CANNOT download any of the suggested items depite the one I orginally said as it was already on computer. Please I'm pulling my hair out on this one.

Hello maddiem,

Welcome to Geek Police, my name is Origin and I will be helping you today. Please keep the following in mind:

  • If you do not get a reply from me or another helper within 2 days, please reply to your topic with the phrase BUMP
  • If you have any cracked/pirated software in your computer delete them or we will not help you.

  • Do NOT run any tool without Geek Police supervision as it could hinder your system useless.
Please download the current version of HijackThis from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

  • Double click and run the installer.
  • It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  • After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  • Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

Please make sure there is no proxy set:

Remove the Proxy setting in Internet Explorer and/or in FireFox.

    In Internet Explorer
  1. Tools Menu -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab ->Lan Settings > uncheck "use a proxy server" or reconfigure the Proxy server again in case you have set it previously.

    In Firefox
  1. Tools Menu -> Options... -> Advanced Tab -> Network Tab -> "Settings" under Connection > Choose "No Proxy"
  2. Click the apply button and restart that computer in normal mode.

If there was a proxy and now should be removed, can you get online?

If not, let me know.

Hello.
Can you transfer tools from another machine via USB onto the infected machine?

Reinstalled etc but still no joy. Cannot access email account to create a new one. When I reinstalled it said repaired OUtlook but no good. Will I look all my PST files if I uninstall outlook and reinstall?
