W32.SillyDC virus

Post by Hikari012 on 8th January 2010, 8:30 am

Hello, it's me again! My virus scan found this virus on my computer. I am not sure if it deleted or cleaned the file, but it says the action description failed. So I'm assuming it wasn't able to do anything. I would like to remove the virus before it can infect my USB (and I'd have the grand ol' USB problem the last time I came here.)

Thank you in advance and also thank you so much for helping me in the past!

I think it's running the same. When the virus was on the computer, nothing was really affected DX. But when I put in my SD card, there was something about a virus, so I think it's infected. Should I try to check my SD card (and USB port) by connecting it onto the computer? When the computer was infected, they both happened to be connected to the computer. Sad tearing I'm worried that they might be infected (though I definitely know there's a high chance the SD card is infected)

Please plug in your SD Card/USB.

Please download [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to your Desktop and run it by double clicking the program's icon.

  1. Wait a couple of seconds for initial scan to finish.
  2. Connect all of your USB storage devices to the PC, one at a time, and keep each one connected at least for 10 seconds.
  3. If there are more USB storage devices to scan, please take a note about the order in which these were connected.
  4. After all the devices are scanned, right click in the Monitor tab, and choose "Save log". That will open the log in Notepad. Please copy and paste the log into this thread.
Explanation: USB storage devices are all the USB devices that get their own partition letter at connecting to the PC, e.g. flash drives (thumb/pen drives, USB sticks), external HDDs, MP3/MP4 players, digital cameras, memory cards (SD cards, Sony Memory Stick, MultiMedia Cards etc.), some mobile phones, some GPS navigation devices etc.

Hello.
What is drive F:\? because that one is infected. Whatever was plugged into E:\ though, is fine, no infection on that.

Whatever is in drive F:\, please make sure it is still plugged in before running this next bit. You'll need to re-download OTM.

Please download the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click OTM.exe to run it.
  • Copy the bolded text below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose CopyCrying

    :files
    F:\autorun.inf.blocked
    F:\RECYCLER\recycld.exe

  • Return to OTMoveIt, right click in the "Paste instructions for items to be Moved" window (under the light blue bar) and choose Paste.
  • Click the red Moveit! button.
  • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
  • Close OTMoveIt
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Please post the OTMoveIt log.

The one inserted int F:\ was the SD card.

Here is the log:

========== FILES ==========
F:\autorun.inf.blocked moved successfully.
F:\RECYCLER\recycld.exe moved successfully.

Hello.
Yes, it was your SDCard that was infected. We can protect the SDCard and the USB using this tool.

Please download Flash_Disinfector from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

  • First, download it to your desktop.
  • Now double click it to run it and will tell it you what to do when you open it.
  • It will temporarily kill explorer.exe and your desktop will go blank.
  • Let Flash_Disinfector do it's job and it will restart explorer.exe for you.
  • It will make a dummy autorun.inf in the root of every drive.
  • You can now delete Flash_Disinfector.exe.

Re-run the OTM CleanUp! routine again. No more problems now? Smile

For some odd reason, Flash_Disinfector won't open. DX I put it on my desktop and ran it. Then it loads, but nothing happens.

I have done that, but there's still nothing happening. I checked if I am an administrator of the computer and I am.

Fine, we'll use USBNoRisk to do it.

Please open USBNoRisk again, we need to use a custom script to do this.

  1. When USBNoRisk opens, go into the Script tab, and insert the bolded script below.

    {93bace0c-fbdb-11de-a398-00242cbe3719}
    protect:
    {dca216e3-27ec-11de-8d3f-806e6f6e6963}
    protect:
    {7d163b1d-fbd5-11de-adb9-00242cbe3719}
    protect:

  2. Then press the Run Script button.
  3. Copy and paste the report back here.

Done, your SDCard is protected now, it can't be infected very easily.
