2nd computer used Avira AntiVir Rescue System now dead.

Post by scottokelley on 4th January 2010, 8:07 pm

Got the chkdsk error and tried to use Avira AntiVir Rescue System. Ran through the program and it found and removed or renamed about 12 items. now when I try to reboot it does nothing. Sounds like hard drive isn't even try to move.

Please download the current version of HijackThis from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

  • Double click and run the installer.
  • It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  • After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  • Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

No, and since you used Avira rescue disc, try using it again, see if you can boot after another scan.
