Solved browse to a blank greyed box

Post by davyburns on Mon 23 Nov 2009, 1:12 am

Hi, I have a problem with a lot of programs which lead me to believe it must be the OS (win XP Pro) If a program asks me to download/move/create a file in anything other than the defauld directory, and I hit the Browse to button, the grey box that pops up is just all grey where I would expect to see a list of my hard drives.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Davy

Hello,

Sorry, I missed out your post.

Open Notepad and copy the following code:

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{EFA24E64-B078-11d0-89E4-00C04FC9E26E}]
@="Explorer Band"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{EFA24E64-B078-11d0-89E4-00C04FC9E26E}\Implemented Categories]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{EFA24E64-B078-11d0-89E4-00C04FC9E26E}\Implemented Categories\{00021493-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{EFA24E64-B078-11d0-89E4-00C04FC9E26E}\InProcServer32]
@=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,\
  00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,73,00,68,00,\
  64,00,6f,00,63,00,76,00,77,00,2e,00,64,00,6c,00,6c,00,00,00
"ThreadingModel"="Apartment"

Save it as fix.reg. Run fix.reg and see if it fixes the problem.
