Where does Windows keep the thumbnails of the websites that are visited ? I have looked from time to time and cannot find any files or folders that contain these thumbnails. I have looked in the system files and cannot locate them. I have " thumbnails not cached " in the folder options but I believe that has nothing to do with the website thumbnails . They are annoying because Microsoft is putting unwanted data on my system and it would be nice to get rid of them. I run Xp pro on a pc.

I am viewing them from a program that recovers lost and deleted files, pictures ,and movies. Every time I run the program it finds pictures and movies of websites some of which I never visited. I am the only one that uses my computer.

Hello,
Those are temporary files. It could be from the thumbnails on the websites you visit, but not the thumbnail of the website itself.
