Problem with Antivirus System Pro

My laptop has been infected with this Antivirus System Pro software that everyone has been talking about. I followed one of the posts on this site to download and run the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware software. It identifies items for removal, which I do. I then issue a shutdown/restart but when the machine comes up, the Antivirus System Pro automatically restarts again and all of the annoying virus alerts start popping up again. I even tried to do a system restore but I get an error message about contacting the domain administrator. HELP!!!!

Please download the current version of HijackThis from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

  • Double click and run the installer.
  • It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  • After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  • Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

Belahzur,

Thanks for the info but when I click on the link to run the HijackThis installer a popup appears which says "Application cannot be executed. The file werfault.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?".

I am assuming that this message is caused by the Antivirus System Pro malware. If I click on 'No', the screen disappears and my web page closes. Help!!!

I also tried doing a Malware Full Scan but still cannot download the HijackThis executeable. This anitvirus System Pro shuts down my internet explorer during the download process. Very frustrating

Try this.


  • Please download DDS by sUBs to your Desktop (Important!!) from one of these locations:

  • Double click DDS.scr to run.
  • When complete, two logs will open. Save both of the report to your Desktop.
  • Copy and paste BOTH LOGS back here, use more than one post if needed.
