Linksys wireless will not connect

Post by carolinagirl2001 on 15th November 2009, 10:38 pm

Previously I had the Alpha Antivirus (spyware) on my machine. I had to run system recovery to get rid of it and now everything is in working order except my wireless connection. I have a linksys wireless router (model WRT54GV) I cannot wirelessly connect. I have tried the troubleshooting on their website but this is not fixing the problem. Help! Thank you!

Hello,

Open CMD, Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults by typing: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults by typing: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Restart your PC.

If it doesn't work, download Winsock XP Fix from here, save it to your Desktop.
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html

Double click on the exe on your Desktop.
Press the "Fix" button, then restart again.

See if you can connect now.
