Windows XP fails to boot

Post by foster2k6 on 11th November 2009, 8:03 am

Just a few days ago my computer became infected with malware. I think I successfully managed to remove it but when I turned my PC off the following night, it wouldn't turn back on.

When I turn my PC on it gives me the option to start in:
Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt
Normally
Last Known Good Configuration.

I've tried booting up using all of these options and nȯne of them work. A blue screen with white writing always appears for a split second after I choose one of those options. Also, I don't have a working CD/DVD drive (can't use any discs to fix this problem). Please help me, thanks.

Btw, the very last resort would be to completely wipe my computer and start fresh.

All I know is that it's Windows XP Home Edition Media Centre Edition.
I can't switch it on to check properly.

I think i can help you with this problem. But we seriously NEED CD/DVD drive for this problem. So if you have some good friend or family member, ask them to borrow you for 1-2 days.

Okay, I'll try my best to get one. What will I be using the CD/DVD drive for? what disc? what will it do?

I'll let you know when I have a CD/DVD drive.

We need to do System Repair, also, you'll need any Windows XP CD, or if you don't have it, one Blank so we can Burn on it some files you'll need for Repair.

Okay.
