MPH show 2009

Post by Belahzur on Mon Nov 09, 2009 1:10 am

Hey everyone.
I spent this past weekend in London to go see the MPH show featuring Top Gear Live (Jeremy/James/Richard/Stig)

We went there by train, stayed at my aunts house in London so we were close to the show. We went there early so we could look around the cars that were there. Anyway, let the tale begin.

As soon as we got there, they had 3 Nissan cars parked up on show outside, they even let us sit in them.

They had the 370z (track car version maybe), the 370z roadster, and the GTR.

370z

The GTR

and the Roadster

We went inside, and as soon as we got in the door, there was a Ferrari just to the left of us. They didn't let us sit in this, guess the insurance was a little too high to risk damage.

As we walked around a bit more, we came across a few MG's.

The little poster at the side says the cars stats/price, etc

As we walked a little further, we spotted a nice restraunt, so we went to get some lunch, (chairs were all full sadly) so we ate that right next to this BMW style cop car.

We came across two Lambo Murciélago's, a normal yellow one and a design one.

Anyway, we were walking around a bit more, and guess what turned up? only the Bugatti Veyron. (instant omg time, those who watch Top Gear should know why)

1001 BHP
£500,000 price tag
10 radiators
4 turbo chargers

Right next to the Veyron was the Aston Martin DB9S

I spent a minute or two drooling over these two cars, then moved on.

We walked around a little bit more, as it was getting close to show time. They had some older style cars from Porshe and Ferrari

We made out way to the show area (had to be there 10mins early to get good place in the que, que was massive after about 5mins)

Sorry for bad picture quality here guys, I was sat right at the back and couldn't see very well, but this shot was taken from one of the big screens for those who couldn't see.

The gang came out and introduced the Top Gear stunt team from Ford, they came out in small Ford Focus' and did handbrake turns running from one side of the stage to the other.

Next, this small hatchback came out on this circular platform and did donuts, lots of tyre smoke (sorry I caught the edge of someones head)

Lots of other cars came out, but they were just moving too fast and I couldn't snap a shot, and any shot I did get was half blurry.

I got a good shot of the gang and stunt team using three-wheelers and going around a little curcuit they made.

^ Jeremy is the red shirt, and James was in the other car next to him.

Once they finished messing around with the 3 wheelers, they went backstage to bring out a set of supercars (Lambo/Audi R8/Ferrari 911/Bugatti Veyron, etc) which was awesome to see all these fast and amazing cars running around on the stage.

Towards the end, they got the Stig into this small quad thing, and he did a loop-da-loop, sorry no pic, too fast and was over in 1 second with the speed he was using.

After the show, we went back to see more cars sat around, and found this BMW x650, that they let us sit in, so I got a pic of me in it.

We also came across this Pagani Zonda, the board next to it said £1m to buy that, a little verticle I think. Goofy

As we were heading out to get some food and leave for the day, we passed this Merc McLaren SLR.

Overall, awesome day.

I would recommend this show to anyone who likes/loves cars as much as I do, visit http://www.mphshow.co.uk/ to find out more and dates on when/where they are touring.

A bit more.

I got a Top Gear Live t-shirt, and outside, they had a big board advertising Jeremy's new DVD - Duel.

I recommend watching it if possible, it's good.

Heh, the Veyron is the more powerful there, but for fun wise, I'd want that BMW x650 or the DB9S. Both are amazing cars.

Speaking of rich, they aren't as rich as the two UK people who won the euro jackpot lottery yesterday. £45m each, they are now said to be among the richest people in the UK.

A few more pictures coming soon.

The MHP show actually has a facebook page, with even more pictures and a few "extra" pictures.
