Solved Upgrade to Vista

Post by jimclark1947 on Sat Oct 10, 2009 8:58 pm

I am currently running XP and would like to upgrade to Vista. I have only installed operating systems before when adding a new hard drive so I would like to know what is involved if I just want to install the new operating system.

Will I have to reinstall any of my programs if I do this?

What sort of problems might I expect?

Thanks

Using an upgrade...no data loss. It is recommended, however, to back up your data. Would you like to know how to do this?

Vista install tutorial: http://www.geekpolice.net/tutorials-guides-f13/how-to-install-windows-vista-t1607.htm

Problems, are just performance issues, if you do not have the appropriate system requirements.
Try the upgrade advisor first: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/get/upgrade-advisor.aspx
