msb.exe malaware removal help

Post by Jenkins on 19th September 2009, 12:57 am

I have been told to post here to get help with removing msb.exe

It has been causing my computer to go on an endless loop of restarting itself (more info here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ) I can't log into the account normally but I can go in safe mode. Right now, I am using the guest account which works fine but I would still like to use the other account because it doesnt ask for my credentials every five freaking minutes. So what should I do now?

Hi

Please do the following and carefully read:

Log on to the account and immediately go to the Start menu, type in CMD and press Enter.
When the shutdown popup comes up, type in the Command Prompt window:
shutdown -a

Keep Command Prompt open and do that again if the shutdown popup comes up. Repeat it as many times as needed simultaneously through this process.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Extra Note)
  • Please save the log to a location you will remember.
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Repeat the above process once, then please post a log in your next reply.

it isnt automatically restarting anymore, but i am not sure if the virus is there or not because the account will act very slow and/or freeze constantly. im not sure if this is because of the virus or because i havent used the account in such a long time, so i will do what you said.

by the way, sorry it took me so long to reply
