Solved Virus that wont let me use Antivirus [Trojan/Junkpoly?] Cant use HijackThis

Post by chibi_Taiga on Tue Sep 08, 2009 6:54 am

Well, first off, (im sorry)T__T i dont really know when my laptop got infected..., but i noticed about 4 days ago when this red shield icon in my taskbar kept popping up and saying my antivirus (Avast!) wasnt activated. There was this "activate" button at the bottom and as soon as i clicked on it, it started downloading system protection or something.
Then when i tried to activate my antivirus, an error message popped up and said:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item."*

Any antivirus site i go onto gets immediately blocked. (yup, first thing i tried) =.=''
My taskbar and registry editor thing is blocked by "administrator" [i googled and figured out how to unblock this -^0^-]
I've tried downloading all sorts of antivirus programs on my brother's computer then transferring them onto my laptop. But they all scan for about 2 seconds then shut down. After that i cant access them anymore, *the same error message keeps showing up (see above ^^;;).
Even if i try to reinstall, it still just runs for 2 seconds then shuts down.
Umm, i tried downloading the Kaspersky rescue disk thing but then i realised that i didnt have a writable disk.....=.=''....~~
When i turn my laptop on/startup , this other error message come up about"

"logonui.exe- Application Error. The instruction at '0x00620289' referenced memory at '0x00620289'. The memory could not be 'written'. [Click OK to terminate the program. Click CANCEL to debug the program.]"

You have to either press "ok" or "cancel" (or alt+f4) about 10-20 times before it disappears and brings you to a logon screen.
Then after a few times of logging in, it wouldnt let me log on anymore..o.o'
So now i can only use the computer in safe mode...~~ T__T;;
Because of this i cant use the internet for some reason and cant download HijackThis
Oh but it DOES let me log on normally everynow and then, but then sometimes it wont let me onto the desktop and i cant see the taskbar...so yeah...an on off kinda thing.
My antivirus doesnt work but my firewall says its some sort of Trojan. There was another one named "junkpoly" in Windows/system32. Ive tried searching for it in that folder but i cant find it ><''
Ive googled it everywhere, im not sure if its the system security virus because nothing pops up about "system security"
So yeah, these are the programs ive tried using so far:
-Malwarebytes
-Spyhunter
-SUPER Antispyware
-Avast! Antivirus
-Kaspersky
-Norton Security Scan
-ProceXp
-Ccleaner
(all free editions)

Please help, im desperate~~!!TAT;; Sad tearing
I need to use the laptop for my studies~~!!
Is formatting the only option~?? @__@''

Thanks in advance~~!!Thank You!
-chibi~

(P.S Sorry for the long post....~~)

Hello. Thanks for registering.

A format is not necessary at the moment, and hopefully it can be avoided.

Please try to start the computer in to "Safe Mode with Networking."

ComboFix

Please download ComboFix from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] or [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

!! Attention !!
ComboFix will attempt to run from Safe Mode. ComboFix may do the first cleaning, then want to boot in to Normal Mode. ComboFix runs best in Normal Mode. After you post your first log, I may ask you to run it as a second cleaning.
Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

If you have any problems with the above, please ask questions, and we can take a different route - if needed.

Hiya~~
Umm..
Ive tried downloading combofix to my desktop from both of those links.
It worked but when i launch combofix and click "yes" on the first thing that pops up, this other window message comes up:

!! ALERT !! It is NOT SAFE to continue!
The contents of the Combofix file has been compromised.
Please download a fresh copy from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Note: You may be infected with a file patching virus "Virut"

And yup Ive been to that website to download...but no luck..T__T
Is there another option~? >:3

Thanks!!

Hi

I have bad news. Your computer has been compromised by what is called a file infector virus.

Please read [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] by me, for better information and support. Be sure to click all the links and get as much information as possible on solving the issue.

If you have any problems doing a reformat and reinstall, or do not have the resources to do so, then we can try to clean it. However, if we try to clean it, we may not get it all - and it would be like a needle in a haystack trying to find every single infected file. Therefore, I can almost guarantee your system will still be infected after we try to clean it.

If you do not have an XP disk, see if you can borrow one from a friend.

I have many tutorials on reformatting and reinstalling that I could link to you. Let me know if you need any links to tutorials.

Please let me know in your next reply what you have decided to do.

Wow...><''
Is it really that bad~? T__T
I guess I've decided to let my big brother do a reformat this Saturday -^^-
(he gave me hell for this...~)
I have two questions though..~~
1). Do you think it would be safe to copy some of my files (microsoft word etc and some larger files 1 gig+)
to a few CDs/USBs as a backup, then copy them back to my laptop once it has been reformatted~? o.o'
Or would that just be too risky because the Virut thing might have corrupted a heap of files~~??><''
2). Will i have to change all my passwords on all the sites ive been to~? They arent realli important sites like those bank accounts and such. :3 but it might be a problem because i use just about the same 5 different passwords for everything...~~ [*gulp*] X___x;

Well thanks so much for all your help~~!!>o<''
And im sorry for the time ive taken up...T__T

Hi

Please do not be discouraged. It should be okay to only copy Documents (name of document.doc, docx). Anything else, like pictures, etc, might be infected.

Changing all your passwords is a good idea, and I recommend it.

Does this mean you've decided to do a reformat:
