a new service

Post by Xenos on Sun Aug 09, 2009 4:20 pm

i am proposing a service.

basically its remote control over the members PC.

Personally i sometimes find it difficult to help some people out with there issues with out being in front of the PC .
Its easier for me to act on it rather trying to put it into words.

so.... with this service ONLY trusted Tech support are allowed to offer it.
If a member has a problem with there PC and you are having trouble fixing it over the forum then you can offer this service, the member has the right to deny this service if they don't feel comfortable with you taking control of there PC.
the good thing about this is that the member can sit and watch exactly what you are doing from there computer, they can see everything from opening software to even just moving the mouse, and if they dont like it they can disconect you at any time.

the software is called Team Viewer which can be found HERE.
The Software is FREE for personal use , and will have to pay for business. As you wont be making money from it , you can get it free because its not business use.

Once you offer this service to the member and they install this software they will have a ID and password (which changes everytime you restart the PC, unless you set it not to) they will PM the Helper (only STAFF) the pass and ID , the helper uses that on there team viewer to create a direct connection. and be able to troubleshoot the issue in realtime.

The Software offers direct file transfer between the two computers, and real time chat for communicating with the recipient whilst in control.

What do you think?

No.
Remote access just wouldn't work. Regardless if the user feels comfortable or not, your still giving a total stranger access to things, and sometimes those things end up being personal items, especially from users that come in with business machines that have private things stored on them.
