which anti virus to use ?

Post by sze92 on Sat Jul 25, 2009 3:50 pm

hello. thanks for the big help to remove the virus. (just hope it is all removed)

i now have 2 anti virus which is Avira and Malwarebytes. is it fine to have both or remove one ? also, is there any other better or best anti virus that can be used ?

finally, what can i do to ensure my computer is fully protected from all kinds of virus and all those things ? i also think i got my virus from one of the advertisement where websites usually have and when i accidentally click on it, a pop up would come out or something like that.

Hello,

Malwarebytes is more of an antispyware, and Avira is an antivirus, so they can run hand in hand. To ensure better security, keep your Windows up to date, restrain from visiting porn sites, torrents and using p2p. You can also use a more secure browser like Firefox and use Adblock Plus to block the ads.

well i absolutely don't visit porn sides or watch porn and don't use torrents and p2p but i do use 4shared.com and sometimes rapidfile and megadownload. is it actually safe ? everytime i download the file i would do a scan but i do doubt the safeness.

btw the ABP is really awesome. totally blocked all the unwanted advertisements. thanks !
