can not run scan

Post by smithshock on Fri Jul 24, 2009 5:21 pm

I have McAfee and when I try to scan it shows an error message "Error Starting On Demand Scanner"

I also have Malwarebytes and when I try to scan with it I get this error message " Windows can not access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have appropriate permission to access the item."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both.

I also tried to install hijack this, however when it was finished, it closed on its own and I can not find it. I have tried using the search as well.

Thank you for taking the time to help me.

Charlotte

Hello.
Can you run this version?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

It doesn't install, so it should work.

I tried running the scan with the link you provided, however it is doing the same. It will run the log and close as soon as it finishes, and will not let me access it.

I get the error message either way.

I have only recently encountered this problem.

Thank you for taking the time to help me figure this out.
