help...Antivirus System Pro

Post by jill010452 on Wed Jul 22, 2009 4:21 am

I used malwarebytes to remove Antivirus System Pro by using Safe mode-network. I had to go in as administrator....which is not the normal way I log in...always logged in just as compaq...anyway I thought I was o.k. but....1. I can not log in under compaq, that account has disappeared.....2. I can see my compaq screensaver but it will go to the administrator blue screen.

I am not a geek, and I hope I am explaining this in a way so that someone out there can help. I guess I am worried that my compaq account is open to someone somewhere and they have access to my information

Thank You!

dazed and confused

Hello.
No, you did it right. Your first log didn't show any outstanding problems, that's why MBAM didn't find any files.

I want to get an uninstall list because there is old software installed malware can take advantage of.

  • Open HijackThis.
  • When Hijack This opens, click "Open the Misc Tools section"
  • Then select "Open Uninstall Manager"
  • Click on "Save List..." (generates uninstall_list.txt)
  • Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Please PM me if I fail to respond within 24hrs.

Re: help...Antivirus System Pro

Post by jill010452 on Sun Jul 26, 2009 2:09 am

Now I am sure I have done something wrong because no matter what button I look under, I can not find Open Misc. Tools Section or Unistall manager on Hijack This...what to do. I hate to make you go through all this work if everything is o.k. I am just concerned about my regular account screen saver running behind my administrator account, and losing the ability to log into the regular account because the icon is gone but not the screensaver........sorry.

Yikes jill

Hello.
We haven't left you, we just didn't see the log posts. We have had lots of traffic lately and sometimes we miss one or two post and they get pushed back.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/remove Programs. Then uninstall the following items:

Adobe Reader 7.0.9
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
P2P_Energy Toolbar
Viewpoint Media Player

How is the machine running now?

I am sorry

Post by jill010452 on Sat Aug 01, 2009 1:00 am

Once you guys helped me rid the Antivirus system Pro.........I could not get back to my regular compaq account. I am currently running the compaq administrator account.

However, when I turn my computer off or on, my regular compaq account starts up but then is switches to the adm screen. I know this because I see the regular compaq screensaver. So it is running behind the admin blue screen but I can not find the regular account log in. I have been to control panel and looked in the user accounts...but it is not there....only the guest account option, my regular account icon disappeared........My biggest concern is vulnerability.

Does that make better sense? Let me think

I see, please do the following:

Please download [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

  • Next run the file; *Note: If running vista right click and select run as administrator
  • Once opened, navigate to the log tab and select all the areas including the hidden objects only box and click on the create log button
  • A scan will start and then a window will pop up with two options, select scan all drives
  • Once finished it will give you a location where it was saved, navigate to that place usually the desktop, and open the log, post all the contents of the log back here.
