Please download the current version of HijackThis from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

  • Double click and run the installer.
  • It will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\hijackthis.exe
  • After installing, you should get the user agreement, press accept and Hijack This will run.
  • Select Do a system scan and save a log file. This will open a notepad file of everything Hijack This found, copy and paste it back here.

Hello.
The bloodhound exploit isn't malware to be honest, I've researched this before, it's caused by having old versions of Java/Adobe Reader installed, so we'll update them first. To do so, I need to check what versions you have installed right now.

  • Open HijackThis.
  • When Hijack This opens, click "Open the Misc Tools section"
  • Then select "Open Uninstall Manager"
  • Click on "Save List..." (generates uninstall_list.txt)
  • Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

Hello.

I see that you are running Limewire.
P2P(Peer to peer) applications are designed to help you easily share and distribute files between you and a group of people. But they can also be used to distribute malware, and thus are not considered safe.
The removal of these programs is optional, but highly recommended.

If Limewire is not removed, then I won't help you.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs.

    µTorrent
    Adobe Reader 9
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11
    Java(TM) 6 Update 14
    Java(TM) 6 Update 2
    Java(TM) 6 Update 3
    Java(TM) 6 Update 7
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1
    LimeWire 5.1.4
    LiveUpdate 3.0 (Symantec Corporation)

Did you uninstall avast!?

K- did this - but never had to" Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions." all the java was removed earlier.
Anything else i need to do ?
& have i thanked you yet - cause this is awesome -
Just out of curiousity - can you fix anything on computers ?
The reason i ask , is i have a lot of friends who alwys come to me when things go wrong - i always send them to geek squad who charges $100 or more - I could start sending them to you and you can charge them -
Just an idea -

Sorry, a bad edit on my part.

We don't "charge", or want to get paid, we just offer a free service of malware removal, a simple thank you is enough.
But we do have a donation channel option to anyone who wants to donate to our cause and keep us alive.

Hello.
Please read this article.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Please install Avira antivirus otherwise you won't be protected.

1) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
-Free anti-virus software for Windows.
-Detects and removes more than 50,000 viruses. Free support.

It is strongly recommended that you run only one antivirus program at a time. Having more than one antivirus program active in memory uses additional resources and can result in program conflicts and false virus alerts.
