Internet problems

Post by fubar1010 on Wed Jun 17, 2009 10:57 pm

Hi again
Right here goes, my internet was perfectly fast ran smooth and i was happy with it
i had mcafee security centre installed a trial i got pre installed on my vista home premium desktop
i downloaded and used MCAFEE REMOVAL TOOL to uninstall mcafee so i could install AVG 7.5 with firewall anti spam etc
i successfully installed avg 7.5 and then i found avg 8.5 and upgraded to avg 8.5 it was all installed fine everything running with avg Smile

I tried to open up a internet page and it just froze on the blank white screen with an empty addresse bar
then it would say NOT RESPONDING and i would get a box up on my screen saying the program was not responding
wait for it to respond or close (only close would work) Can't Believe It

i tried switching off firewall, tryed switching off avg internet was still the same

i did a system restore to a restore point just before i uninstalled mcafee
i now have mcafee back on my desktop but my internet is still slow loading up (slow to the point i could take bath and it would just have loaded or timed out by time i was back lol)

but then it runs perfectly fine
oh
and then it plays up again
hope some one as advice for me please many thanks

Hello,

Now try removing McAFee and install Avast. Let me know if it works.

Let me know the error code of the blue screen so I can see what's causing it.
