Solved Vista keeps restarting after alcohol install

Post by ragolding on Tue 09 Jun 2009, 8:42 pm

hey, I installed alcohol (image burning software, free version), and windows vista keeps restarting and momentarily stops at the password log in and then restarts itself again and keeps repeating this cycle. It goes, "a problem has been detected with your computer and may need to shut down (blue screen)", then it reboots and then "loads" all these system 32 things...and then does it all again. Any suggestions?

Hello,

I need the error code of the Blue Screen. It usually appears as 0x00000008E.

Thanks.

Hello,

Did you recently enable the BitLocker Drive Encryption feature? If you did not then it must be a program which enabled the "Special pool" feature.

I don't think there is a fix for this currently, but you can restore your computer to a time before this happened.

Boot into safe mode by tapping F8 at startup, once you're presented with a new screen, select Last know good configuration. If it doesn't work, try to perform a system restore in safe mode.

No i didnt do anything like that - just tried to install the alcohol software. It keeps restarting even if I select safe mode and there is no option for "last known good configuration" and when it does boot up to the desktop infrequently there is no where near enough time to system restore - there is however a rescue and recovery option on it (its a lenovo) - I guess I should try that?

Well, I'm afraid that's the only option left if you can't boot into safe mode nor return to the last known good config.
