Solved Sound Not Working

Post by Master on Mon Jun 01, 2009 10:37 pm

Hi GeekPolice,

A couple of days ago I had gotten the trojan "WinCodecPro". There were many warnings that said there was a fatal error and you need to update your media drivers, etc. I have followed the guide written by Doctor Inferno in the Virus Removal Guides forum.

The trojan is now officially removed from my site. However, my sound doesn't work at all!

I posted in the Malware Section and I'm not infected or anything, but Belahzur told me that Doc will help me update my drivers and fix the problem.

Thanks.

All of the audio devices are detected everything but when I turn up or turn up the volume in the taskbar or even from the sound settings in the control panel, so sound is heard at all.

Hello,

Make sure that the jack connected to your PC is properly fitted. Open device manger, select Sound, video and game controllers >> right click >> uninstall the audio drive and install this:
