Hi,

I have the Total Vista Security virus. It seems like a new version because before I came here I tried previously known methods of removing it, but they failed. I couldn't identify any virus files in my registry or on my hard drive. However, whenever the virus runs (a couple fake security center windows pop up at startup or when I run ANY .exe file) a process called Ave.exe appears in the Task Manager. I can't figure out how to disable this from running on startup. I can still run almost ...

I have tried everything I know to get this computer to stop freezing up, which I admit is not as much as you guys. I have Win XP Home with SP3 installed, 2 GB of RAM, plenty of hardrive space. Oftentimes it freezes as I am scrolling with my mouse. But sometimes I walk away from the computer and come back and it is frozen without any action on my part. Can you help? What do you need to know?

google has no returns for a search and I've looked at a couple of sites that list dlls etc with no luck

It may be that I am just not recognising something because of the name

but things always seem to turn out messier than you'd expect, so I've posted the log for you to cast an eye over, if you would be so kind

thanks

THANK YOU FOR ANY ASSISTANCE AND CONSIDERATION!

About 4 days ago, after Windows logon, I had2 warnings pop up regarding my "system tray." However, more importantly, I received a notification that my Windows Security was not activated in addition to the 2 other warnings. I was prompted to click on the red shield icon to open a pop-up and "turn on" my Windows Security, but upon doing so, another pop-up stated that I was unable to activate this. Since then, I have tried a ...

I was trying to clean out my computer so I deleted a bunch of old programs yesterday. Looks like I did something weird/wrong.

I'm getting two different error messages:

Malwarebytes' Anti-malware

Error Code: 707 (3,0)

(I click OK and it goes away until the next time I log in)

and

Exception EFOpenError in module aviWUSB54GC.dll at 0000DBSF

(this one keeps popping up a bunch of windows...I hit the X in the top right corner, not the "OK" button)

Help!

Hello,

Today I found that AntiMalware Doctor was showing up on my computer. I did a google search and followed the directions there in removing most of it and now it appears to be gone. However, now I am not able to open anything except for Internet Explorer. Whenever I try to open something, I get the "Open With" box and a list of programs to use to open the file with. That means that all my anti-virus software, even new items like OTL, Commie, etc I am not able to open even ...
